It let me check its work

I asked the hardest version of the question I had — why a baby is born with a disease that will kill them — and half expected a paragraph of comfort. Instead it took the argument apart in steps: the world handed over, the consequences landing on everyone in it, the child caught in a world that had turned. Then it told me which debates the reasoning came from, and I went and watched one of them myself. That is the part I keep coming back for. I do not have to take its word for anything.

Not a verse-quoting machine

What surprised me is how often it says "there is a real mystery here" instead of closing the gap with something neat. When I asked for the verses behind a claim, the passages came up beside the answer in full, so I could read them myself rather than trust a citation. I have used it three nights a week since I joined and it has not run dry yet.

Strong on objections, sometimes long-winded

I pushed it on the problem of evil for the better part of an hour and it never once dodged. It names the objection fairly before answering it, which is rarer than it should be. My only complaint is length: two of the replies were so thorough I had to read them twice, and one circled back to a point it had already made.

It answers the follow-up

I run a small group on Tuesday nights and I use this to prepare. What makes it different from reading a book is that I can ask the follow-up I would actually get in the room, and it stays with the question instead of drifting. Last week I asked whether any of it was in Scripture, and the passages came up beside the answer — nothing invented, nothing stretched.

Good once you narrow the question

Broad questions get broad answers. My first night I asked something sweeping about other religions and got three paragraphs circling the same idea. Ask it one objection, or one passage, and it is genuinely worth the money. That is a real flaw for a tool at this price, but the good answers are very good.

I use it to argue with myself

I am not a believer, and that is exactly why I subscribed. If I am going to argue against a position I want the strongest version of it, not a straw one. It does not get defensive or start preaching; it lays the case out and lets me attack it. I have changed my mind on one thing already, which I did not expect from a study tool.

The honesty is what sold me

Twice now it has told me plainly that the library carries nothing on what I asked, and once it went and found what other people had written and flagged it so I knew it was not the scholar's own. I would rather have that than a confident fake answer. It does run long, and I would like a way to ask for a shorter one, but that is a small thing against the rest.

Bought it for one question, stayed for the rest

My son was diagnosed in the spring and I could not get past the why him stage. I asked, half expecting a platitude, and got the argument in full — not comfort, an argument, with the steps there to follow. I have read that answer four times. Since then I have asked it about prayer, about suffering in Scripture, and about two passages I never understood.

Sign-up was painless, the room is fast

Two minutes to get in, and the answers come back quicker than I expected for how long they are. It keeps every debate I have started, so I can pick a thread up again two weeks later. Half a star off because I would like to search those old debates instead of scrolling, and the monthly fee after the first month is fair but I would rather pay it yearly.
